Gifts in honor, or in memory, are
a wonderful way to let someone know that you care, and to support UMFK at the same time. These contributions are tax-deductible, and are just two ways to help.
Less traditional gifts also are greatly appreciated, and frequently provide additional tax benefits for you, the donor. Some examples include stocks and securities; per- sonal property; real estate; in-kind gifts; employer matching gifts; and many more.
For further information on how you may support UMFK, please contact Linda Deprey in the
UMFK Development Office at 207-834-7800.
Dear Friends,
It is again my pleasure to serve as your Alumni
Association president. We, the board of directors, seek your input on a few issues which would help us out tremendously. First and foremost is the nomination process by which we select our annual Outstand-
ing Alumni and Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipients. Our pool base is growing with increasing number of graduates; yet, the number of nominations is unable to keep pace with UMFK’s annual growth
in enrollment. It is my belief that we have already surpassed University of Maine at Machias and will pass the University of Maine at Presque Isle with the fall’s enrollment figures. With that said, please look over our pool base, friends and fellow graduates, and take the time to nominate someone you may deem worthy. As you nominate, please include the reasons why the person meets the criteria of someone outstanding, i.e., accomplishments, awards received, or other testimo- nies to validate your nomination.
We also ask you to keep other alumni informed of your activities by submitting biographical information to “The Bell Tower.” It is a good way for members of different classes to keep up with one another’s activities.
We would also like for you to consider supporting and attending our different activities we may sponsor throughout the year. Your presence on campus and your financial support to the UMFK Foundation does not go unnoticed.
As we continue to grow with fewer resources, the UMFK administrative team must often- times come up with innovative ideas to keep the campus alive and well. Congratulations on a job well done to President Wilson Hess, Vice President of Financial Affairs John Murphy, and Vice President of Academic Affairs Robert Dickson. We look forward to your continued leadership as you seek to provide a solid base to your students’ educational foundation.
Looking forward to serving you and don’t forget to consider to nominate an “outstanding” alumni for our annual awards.
