One hundred ninety-eight students received their degrees at UMFK’s 133rd commencement exercises held on May 9. University President Wilson G. Hess presided over
the ceremony that conferred 163 bachelor degrees and 43 associate degrees. In addition to awarding the diplomas to the Class of 2015, President Hess conferred Dr. Susan Hassmiller, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, with the honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree. Naomi Nicolas, recently retired administrative assistant to the UMFK president, was honored with the University’s Distinguished Service Award. Also announced at the commencement ceremony, the title, Professor Emeritus, was bestowed upon retired UMFK professor Dr. Steven Selva.
