March 2002 Meeting Minutes

Library Minutes - March 6, 2002 (Sharon)

  1. Cataloging folders in curriculum collection file cabinet - Sofia will investigate the age and efficacy of the materials in this collection. She may request new materials. She will recommend cataloging or not after this analysis is done.

  2. Easter weekend. are we open all day sunday or just 5-9? - We will be open only 5-9 as is our practice. As it is Sofia's weekend, she will work those hours instead of 1-5. Then hours return to Sunday afternoon only.

  3. Bookstore service - Nicki recorded the short list we came up with for recommendations for items in the bookstore. She will hold these for 2 or 3 days so that we can add if we want. Then she will forward to the bookstore.

  4. Nursing newsletter - Leslie asked for feedback from staff about library and online classes support to be sent into the nursing newsletter. Nicki requested that she be taken off as tech support, since she does not support either of these areas.

  5. Marguerite Kisseloff - Sharon announced that this Board of Visitors member has died. Sofia is to pick an art book to be placed in her honor in the library.

  6. Stats for system (Annual Report) - Sharon asked for help with statistics to give to Marilyn who is doing an analysis of the system libraries. The different sections were assigned to the appropriate staff member.

  7. Nicki announced that the stapler and 3-hole punch the Senate is purchasing for the library has arrived. Camille will be contacted for installation.

  8. Nicki reminded us of her e-mail about the health center now accepting staff and faculty patients. One must be referred by the primary physician if one is on Point of Service.

  9. Stephanie explained that Dave Hobbins students will be looking for reserve materials which are actually with Bruno Hicks materials.
Respectfully submitted, Sharon M. Johnson
