March 2003 Meeting Minutes

March 24, 2003 (Anne)

1. Partnership with FK schools: Suggestions and ideas have already been sent to Scott.

2. Assisted learning station: Stepanie has taken care of updating the machine but there are software upgrades due to be done. Because of the high cost of the upgrades, we will ask Academic & Counciling Services if they could share the cost.

3. DVDs: We already have a cabinet put together so that our DVDs will be under lock and key and only staff will be allowed to check them out to staff/faculty/patrons. The only thing needed is the lock for this cabinet and key(s) for library staff.

4. Procedure for student workers: Sharon shared the information that was sent to us by Benita concerning the "Payroll Verification Form" that needs to be completed by every student worker before they can start their work-study.

5. Color printer: Because of the cost to the library, e.i.the cost of the lease plus the cost of each scans for the Savin SLP38, we have till end of June to look into other options.

6. Others:
   • Shared some worries about not being in control of certain areas of the library when working alone. Sharon will ask Phys. Plant to put a new door knob with a lock so we can actually lock the office when we're out sitting in the reference area.
   • Stephanie is still tallying everything that has to do with the courier service and is wondering when she can actually stop doing it. (She says she absolutely loves doing this and would go on forever...)
   • Received the end plates for ranges and we are not sure if we'll keep them. To be continued.
   • Leslie shared some info. about the "create list workhop" she attended concerning Millenium. She has two lists circulating now so each of us can view/print a copy as needed.
   • Nicki will be out of the office on April 2nd, 3rd & 4th.
