May 8, 2003 (Stephanie)

1. Email activations: In Fall 2003, student ID's will have the student email address printed on it. To help students activate their email accounts, the library staff will take the ID and hand it to Nicki after the barcode and image has been inserted. Nicki, or library staff covering for Nicki, will assist the student in activating their email account. We still need to think about how we are going to activate these accounts.

2. Cash Register Key: Nicki will investigate different kinds of cash registers that contain the option to use a different code for each person. The cash register keys will remain in their current locations.

3. Guest Novell Accounts for one time child use: Nicki will make a new Novell account sheet for young computer users. It will contain a line for a parent/guardian signature. It is a document to make sure parents/guardians know that we do not use filters.

4. Digital Camera: One cable will go with the computer; one cable will be barcoded and put in the box with the camera. The Sony camera has gone to physical plant. The library has ordered a new digital camera for staff/faculty use. The student camera remains the same and has been given a new bibliographic record.

5. OTHERS: Office switcheroo: we talked about who was going to be situated in what locations after the new building will be here. Comments for Leslie's 10 year recognition: (HA HA bet you thought I would write them in). Stephen and Tabitha King Donation: $40,000 was donated to the library. Sharon will write a personal thank you note on behalf of the library staff. There will also be a thank you note on behalf of the University. New Cabinet for Storage: Behind Nicki's desk is a new cabinet. She has sent email about what is in it.

1. Library Summer Hours - some faculty and students have asked for more hours during the summer. Leslie offered to work on Sunday May 18 and Sunday May 25 from 1 pm until 5 pm. We will use this as a trial. If there are enough students who use the Library on those two Sunday's, we will open for the other Sunday's until the end of the first summer session. Nicki will send an email to all staff and faculty asking them to spread the word to students. We will be closed on Monday May 26 for Memorial Day.

2. Meeting with the President - Monday May 19 at 1:00, there is a meeting with the President for all staff and faculty. We do have workstudy coverage. We will also be sure to have coverage on June 5 for the groundbreaking ceremonies.

3. Annual Report - Leslie asked for ideas from us for goals -

4. The move - We had a long discussion about placement of staff, printers and copiers. This is an ongoing discussion.

1. Library Directors Meeting -

2. Cash register - Angela in the Book Store says they have a spare register which is stored right now. They replaced it with a newer one. We might be able to use/buy it. We discussed trying it for a couple of months. It has a memory which will keep record of the transactions if electricity goes out.

3. Shelving - the company will pay half the cost of painting the shelving. They won't except a return. Waiting for cost.

4. Minutes - Sofia discussed making sure everyone puts their name and date on the minutes. Also, she will create a template for people to use.

5. Dreamweaver - Neal will teach how to use it.

6. Peoplesoft - Tamara has started the training of Peoplesoft. There is no word on when our training will happen.

7. Hole punch - The current hole punch is not working again. Nicki will talk to Leveques to see if we will be credited again and ask for a recommendation for one. Then Sofia will approach the student senate again to ask for more money to cover the cost of a better hole punch.

8. Flowers - The flowers are bought for our adopted spot (outside and to the right of the library front entrance (current entrance as of 5/29/03). If it is not raining too hard we will plant flowers this afternoon (Thursday).

9. Meetings and people out -

10. Carbone's class - the class set of lesson plans will be in a folder on Stephanie's computer desk top. We will charge students $1 to purchase a CD, format the CD for drag and drop, then drag and drop folders/files onto CD. When Stephanie makes the master CD she will let Anne know.
