II. Oversize videos: We will do an “Oversize” section within the video area and we will also eliminate the clear plastic containers inside the drawers to make more space. Future plans are to do a section to house videos accompanied by books or pamphlets.
III. Spec. Coll. Room: Some documents don’t have a specific place in the spec. coll. room and require time and effort to find when needed so serial and cataloging depts. will have to manage this task find a location for these documents in the future. Some examples of things to catalog are: biathlon documents; documents concerning Wendy Kindred; certain historical documents, etc.
IV. Cupola lights: We will turn on the “cupola lights” at night and the staff person working will shut these lights before leaving at 9 p.m.. To make sure we don’t forget, Stephanie will also add this task on the student’s list when they close at 11 p.m.
V. Grant Writing Workshop: Sofia and Sharon will attend on Tuesday April 6 at 11 a.m. and Stephanie and Nicki will attend on Wednesday April 7 at 2 p.m.
VI. Loan rule 78: When loan rule changes concerning in-library fines were made by the system office recently it affected the amount of fines charged to other items in other areas of the library. Sharon & Laura suggested to redo the “loan rule determinable table”. Laura will be here next Thursday, April 8, to see to the problem if it is not resolved before then.
Others:
A meeting for the classified staff has been scheduled for next Thursday, April 8, to gather questions and concerns on the “System’s Strategic Plan” that came out recently.
Last drawer of the vertical file in the ref. section of the library has been emptied of the pamphlets, which were re-classed or discarded. The 1st part of the drawer will house circulating material and the 2nd part will house reference material that contains single sheet or odd shaped documents that would otherwise be lost on shelves of those areas.
