January 2015 Meeting Minutes


January 9, 2015 (Sofia)

Fridays: now closing at 8pm Friday nights.

Ray's newsletter: Placed new Friday hours and that our online catalog is more mobile in Ray Phinney's student newsletter.

Reference at UMPI: We are helping out at UMPI for a short while. We will be covering chat and email, some shifting/training temps, search for director is ongoing.

Physical changes on campus delayed: Forestry classes will remain in Cyr until winter break. Nursing classes that were originally scheduled in the cyr classroom will be in Nadeau instead.

Summon: Second round of pricing negotiations are happening. Farmington will no longer use Summon. USM is on board with current pricing. Waiting to hear from Machias.

Director's retreat: Date is july or august 2015

jstor and ebooks: need to know the status of the books in the system. Leslie will follow up.

Micronesia students: the Businsess cohort will be coming for the March eight week term. Looking at 19 students staying hopefully four weeks.

Floating collections: no information at this time

Circ approval: Directors approved circulation fine recommendation

Billed items: Deb will provide recommendations regarding how to handle replacements of billed items. She has a better sense of when/if these items might return. Things to look at are: Timing, community, students, away students/patrons. Asita will work with Deb on created list, then email final list to collections librarians to determine replacement.
