Parking:
Powell hall needs a printer. IT staff is waiting on furniture. Leslie and/or IT staff will look into furniture to get this going.
Laptops: difficulty with managing laptops. Currently six toshibas. One mac was lost last year. one mac and one toshiba this year was damaged. Staff have reduced access to laptops. key for cabinet is in staff office. Staff office is locked when staff not around. spare key to staff office is no longer available on the keyring that WS use. Initial suggestion of replacement costs too high. need to consider that these are seven year old toshibas. currently have seven macs. maybe secure a mac in the library like the pc's. Policy is that toshiba's are primarily for short term emergency use, though we don't specifically ask students why they need them. We will post the policy at the circ desk by fall. Deb says she can manage about three during the regular semesters.
Furniture: sofia will email another person about tables. The other two vendors have not gotten back to her. Sofia will also count chairs (done) to determine how many we need to replace. We will do all but twelve with the hope of purchasing specific tables and chairs for the upstairs section of the library. The total number to replace ended up being 38 (though one or two more could be added depending on if we count miscellaneous chairs). When purchasing the chairs, we plan to also purchase special foot socks (my name) for the bottom of the chairs so they don't scrape across the floor
Staff need to read the official standard seven in preparation for the NEASC group coming in October. It is more to familiarize themselves with the document, and can wait until closer to the time.
Another meeting will be help prior to the beginning of fall semester.
