The University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation held its tenth annual dinner/performance spring fundraiser event, bringing in $18,000.
Most importantly, the funds raised from the event will help support endowed scholarships, student and faculty research, cultural events, and campus projects which are excluded from the University’s budget.
This year’s event included a social, a six-course gourmet dinner, per- formance, and a post-performance reception. Aramark food services donated and catered the dinner.
During the dinner, UMFK President Wilson G. Hess rang the “Cloche de fer” (iron bell) in order to recognize three benefactors who established scholarships. President Hess intro- duced the new directors, who will serve their first term on the UMFK Foundation Board starting August 2015.
The Boston-based award-winning Boogaloo Swamis provided the musical entertainment. The band played their unique blend of Cajun, Zydeco, and New Orleans influ- enced rhythm and blues to a
full house.
Members of the Foundation expressed their thanks and grati- tude for the continued generosity of all individuals and sponsors who contributed to and/or attended the event.
